Welcome to Merchants House…

A stunningly renovated Events Space, with Bar, Kitchen and Courtyard

Inside
Merchants House

Our Story
Merchants House was born from a love of Sheffield’s industrial heritage and community of local artists and businesses. Inspired by the architecture and surrounding community, we set out to create a relaxed, welcoming space for Sheffield.

The venue sits in Merchants Court, a 19th Century industrial building that once was the William Turners and Sons of Caledonia Steel and File Works, its several units still intact and overlooking the original courtyard. Our dedicated event space, The Cove’, pays homage to Sheffield’s industrial heritage, while the bar boasts a quiet elegance and embracing the history of the building.

Meet the Team
Run by a small group of Sheffield hospitality professionals, Merchants House combines years of experience in bars,
events, and food culture. Our team is passionate about good food, sustainability, fantastic customer service and building a community.

Our Community & Local Roots

Nestled in the industrial quarter of Sheffield, we are close to the City Centre, but also part of a wider community that continues further into Neepsend and Kelham Island, the heart of Sheffield’s independent food and drink scene. We are proud to contribute with a space that celebrates connection: colleagues gathering for meetings, celebrating love and milestones, and friends enjoying a chilled night out together.

Decorated indoor event space with a large wall mural featuring various rock band images, signs, and cityscapes, along with black, white, and silver balloons arranged in clusters, tables, and chairs.
